We spent several weeks hearing rumors and seeing images of what would be the two new devices the Oppo brand. The wait is over for today was scheduled meeting where the Chinese company finally would come out of our doubts, but to be honest, it is very little we did not know of these devices with the wave of leaks they did prior to this presentation.

SmartphoneAs we already knew, Oppo introduced us 2 new terminals, joining other companies that chose to lead a “normal” version of its new flagship, and a more enhanced and a larger size for all who can not imagine their day without having a phablet in their hands.

Both devices are very similar in most technical specifications and could leave as major differences in size and battery capacity. Here we leave the technical specifications of both terminals:

Oppo R7

  • 5 inch AMOLED with 1920 × 1080 resolution
  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor eight-core 1.5GHz
  • 3GB RAM
  • 16GB of internal storage expandable with microSD
  • 8-megapixel front camera
  • 13-megapixel rear camera with flash
  • 2320mAh battery
  • 4G LTE Connectivity
  • Dual SIM
  • Dimensions: 143x71x6.3mm and 147g weight
  • Android 4.4 with coloros layer

Oppo R7 PLUS

  • 6-inch AMOLED display with resolution 1920 × 1080
  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor eight-core 1.5GHz
  • 3GB RAM
  • 32GB of internal storage expandable with microSD
  • 8-megapixel front camera
  • 13-megapixel rear camera with dual flash and slow motion recording
  • 4100mAh battery
  • 4G LTE Connectivity
  • Dual SIM (2x Nanosim)
  • Dimensions: 158x82x7.75mm and 203g weight
  • Android 4.4 with coloros layer

As you can see the specifications are almost traced between the two devices, obviously except the screen size, which also leads to a natural increase hand-even obvious-in battery and dimensions, but other than that we talk about very similar phones.

The low point is visible, that Oppo Take a new terminal in 2015 and Android 4.4 this leaves a bad impression, we expect the company to make efforts to correct this may not be a terminal 2015 and intends to be a “top-end” comes with an older version of Android and not Android 5.0 Lollipop, the issue of stability is not worth at this time of year, so do not defend that way, does not apply here.

If they are good teams? of course, they are good representatives of the segments where they belong (high-end and midrange / high), but fail to position themselves at the top of its category and are honest in mentioning, even if we see the prices of these terminals and manufacturing quality and all will seem more enjoyable.

Both devices are available from now in the online store of the brand, better known as OppoStyle. Unfortunately Oppo presence in other continents is quite small and buy in this way is almost impossible at the moment, at least if we talk about buying them directly.

It is now in its discretion decide to buy or not an Oppo R7, we are off to a good end, good design and backed by a company like Oppo, perhaps limps in some respects, but no longer a good alternative to the mobile market in 2015.
